Palestinian activist brandishes sword at border riot, says ‘occupation worse than livestock’

The “sword of Jerusalem” was drawn in 1948 and will never be sheathed, only sharpened between battles, says activist and singer Ramze Alokk.

Palestinian activist and singer Ramze Alokk said at a Gaza border riot in Khan Younis last week that the “sword of Jerusalem” was first drawn in 1948 and “will never be sheathed.”

In remarks broadcast on the Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s Al-Quds Today on Aug. 25, Alokk said, “Who told you that the sword of Jerusalem will be sheathed when the battle is over? Never!”

(“Sword of Jerusalem” is the name given by Hamas to the 11 days of fighting between it and Israel in May, called “Operation Guardian of the Walls” by Israel.)

Between battles, the sword was sharpened, said Alokk, so as to kill more mercifully.

“From the day the occupation entered our lands, the sword has been drawn. After every battle, we sharpen the sword. Today, we are sharpening the sword of Jerusalem for the next battle, so it will be sharp and cut swiftly, because we do not want to torture those we slaughter—whether they are human beings or livestock. But, by Allah, livestock are better than the occupation,” said Alokk.

Alokk was sentenced by Israel to 30 years imprisonment for his involvement in attempted bombings and in sniper attacks in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Gilo. He was released in the 2011 Shalit Deal and banished to Gaza.

The eyes of the entire world were on Gaza, he said.

“The eyes of the people of Jerusalem are set on Gaza—but not just the people of Jerusalem. The entire world is looking at you, oh good people. The entire world is looking at the Palestinian stage, looking at Gaza, waiting to see what happens,” said Alokk.

“Let’s chant and cry out together, and let our people in Jerusalem hear it. They are listening to us, along with the people of the West Bank, the [1948] Palestinians and the Palestinian diaspora. From here, we salute the people of Jabal Sabih. We are with you and victory is near, Allah willing. Let’s say together: We respond to your call, oh Al-Aqsa!”

The Iranian-backed group attacked Israelis as they marked the Exodus, just as the Amalekites attacked the Israelites when they left Egypt, the defense minister said.
The film documents the circumstances of the small rural town of Gniewoszów, focusing on one of its last living survivors, along with a resident who says he saw Jews murdered there six months after the Nazis’ reign of terror ended.
The episodes will “reveal fascinating stories,” IDF Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin said.
“This week we are reminded that with true faith, eternal hope and the power of prayer, nothing can stop the people of God.”
Tehran was on the verge of having too many missiles and drones for its nuclear weapons program to be stopped, the U.S. secretary of state said.
“Their air and missile defense systems have largely been destroyed,” Adm. Brad Cooper stated.
